Description

Specifically designed for kitesurfing in waves and strapless surf freestyle, the Drifter has the ability to engage and disengage its power on command. But the Drifter offers much more than that. It's the first production kite to be triple looped, the Drifter is also at home in the air.

While catching a wave you want all the power you need but while surfing, you often want the kite to completely disappear while you surf on your own power. Its in this moment of pure surfing where you want a kite that ‘drifts’ down the line with you in a stable and predictable way. Bi-Direction Pure Profile Panels:

The smoothest and 3d correct shape we've ever created allowing the smoothest transition between the segmented leading edge and curved canopy.

Forward Drive:

The Moto’s unique profiles combined with the reduced coning of the arc shape allow the Moto to fly incredibly fast through the wind window.

Short Static Bridle:

A short compact pulley-less bridle ensures the ultimate in control and stability as well as response.

Slackline Drift:

Amongst the many features the Drifter is known for, none is more important than drift stability also known as slack line drift. While surfing, it’s sometimes important to depower the kite to the point where you can surf on your own wave generated power without the pull of the kite. Its here that the Drifter is able to stay aloft and drift downwind with you. When the time calls for it, you can immediately power up the kite and clear the next section.

Surfers worldwide have now come to know the benefits of “drift stability”. Drift stability, one of the Drifter’s prominent features, is the kites ability to stay afloat and drift downwind when the kite is depowered. This so called slack line drift function allows the rider to power into the wave, then shut the kite power down and surf as if the kite was not even there.

When the rider needs to power back up the kite is quick to re- engage and power the rider to the next section. The Drifter’s hybrid design is slightly more upright and compact in shape. This makes the Drifter turn on a dime, and power and depower on command. When the wind conditions are marginal and you need to steer the kite a lot, the Drifter will surgically place the kite where you need it exactly when you need it.

HTD Lite:

Refined canopy design to reduce weight, combined with a full HTD Lite Dacron skeleton provides the lightest most reactive kites to date, increasing the range and performance of your product.

Nano Ripstop Canopy:

Nano Ripstop is a 55 g/m2 material with a 3mm double rip stop pattern. This micro rip stop material in unison with a newly developed coating, has given us a 2X increase in the canopy’s tear strength.

A smaller rip stop pattern increases the amount of “cells” in any given panel.

Sprint 3.0 Inflation System:

The Sprint 3.0 inflation system increases air flow from leading edge to the strut. The straight and angled valves allow for no kinking of the inflation tube.

It's secure fit design also allows for easy maintenance.

Bulletproof Bumpers:

These Durable TPU bumpers are strong, lightweight and durable. They crossover protecting the canopy to LE sewing.

A new manufacturing process helps with abrasion when the kite is resting on a hard surface.

The ergonomic new safety system gives you complete confidence in the wildest of conditions while allowing a full range of movement when the bar is pulled in and levered either side during Kiteloops.
