Description

The Shinn Pulse XSurf Foil Drive board is a new generation foil drive board that maximises control and ease to bring the highest performance gains to the genre.

Shorter, wider, thinner and stiffer - a combination of features that mechanically oppose each other brought to reality through a long and involved development process.

Stiffness:

Response and a riders's reaction can only function properly without flex. What you feel from the foil and your reaction to it must be instant and responses precisely metered to avoid oscillations and loss of control.

Thin:

The foildrive max unit is thick, and this is the enemy of control, taking away feel and response from the rider - we use a 20mm carbon track that brings you as close to the mast head as possible, increasing feel and translating your response being closer to the foil’s control surfaces.

Optimised Shape:

Width, length, thickness, shape and rocker combine to give optimised foildrive performance. Adjustability of the foil position and the internal bracing with specially engineered signal pathways brings a stiffness and signal pathway that allows full remote reception even underwater.

Less front foot pressure:

Bringing you closer to the motor reduces the leverage that twists the thrust into your front foot. The weight distribution of free flight vs powered flight is reduced to the point at which foot adjustment is not necessary between the two styles of riding.
Less mass - shorter, smaller boards mean less mass and less leverage, allowing faster and more precise stance adjustments.

Early Starting:

Power requirements for starting is hugely reduced for a number of reasons. Ideal for heavier riders, intermediate technique, as well as using less power.

Wide and short:

More stability starting, greater control in flight. Beveled rails prevent catches during low altitude carves and strikes.

Optimised foil positioning:

Allowing you to get the board position perfect for your foil and stance.

Easy battery swaps:

Fast and easy swaps using your m8 torx tool.

More battery life:

Reduced drag at low altitudes and more efficient starts
Increased learning curve - all add up to learning faster and more capability in harsher conditions.

Foil fitting:

The Pulse uses unique tracks with nuts that are not blind. Using too long a bolt can damage the track behind the nut. If you do not use the supplied m8 70mm bolts then you must carefully fit and trim replacement bolts so they do not penetrate past the nut when fully tightened.

Sizing:

40lt - 5’2” x 21” x 2’7” - more experienced, more power required, more control in flight.

60lt - 5’6” x 22” x 3.2” - more stability in starting, less powered needed, easier at rest easier to paddle.
