Description

The Duotone Vegas is the ultimate C-Kite on the market with unrivalled performance for freestyle, park and kite loops.

Used to devastating effect by World Champions and outstanding riders like Valentin Rodrigues, Mikaili Sol, Gianmaria Coccoluto and Aaron Hadlow, it has more bling in the trophy cabinet than any other Freestyle/Wakestyle kite.

The kite's core design focus is to help the riders perform the latest tricks and multiple passes. As freestyle develops the Vegas has had to match that pace and ensure our team riders have the sharpest tool in the box. The kite offers you incredible power with ultimate control as you dig in an edge ready to pop the lines load up, and the kite gives an explosive launch that is unrivalled amongst the competition.

Once you are in the air, all the power is released, and the line tension goes slack, allowing you to perform your tricks without getting pulled by the kite. This will enable you to stay on axis as you rotate and pass the bar with ease. All you have to do is focus on the trick and the landing and let the kite do the rest. The kite can be tuned for freestyle but also for kite loops too, where it excels.

It is still the kite of choice for many riders at the King of the Air, and his multiple successes at the event are a testament to the kite's capabilities when the wind is pumping. Built using our proven technologies with a Trinity TX canopy and incredible attention to detail, it will be your perfect partner for many seasons to come.

If you want to progress your freestyle riding, the Vegas is the kite you need to be betting the house on

Tuning your Vegas to suit your riding style:

By tuning the kite you can create a few different set ups and allow it to suit different riding styles. On the frontlines are two settings; freestyle gives the rider more depower, more lift, precision kiteloops and very reactive steering. The wakestyle setting gives the rider more pop when unhooked, a longer “power delay” to allow easier handle passes and slightly less reactive steering so you can concentrate on the rails and kickers. The rear lines can be tuned to increase or decrease the turning speed of the kite to suit almost any rider.

Standard Free-Ride Setting:

The standard free-ride setting offers everything you would expect from a free-ride kite like loads of depower, responsive steering and predictable handling.

Freestyle Setting:

The second setting is ideal for taking your first steps into freestyle, offering noticeably harder bar pressure providing more accurate kite feedback and making steering slightly less responsive to practice unhooked tricks.

New School Setting:

The third option converts the Vegas into a fullblooded new-school / wake machine that sits deeper in the wind window and delivers consistent pull with a very limited de-power stroke. This is the preferred setting of our core freestyle team and allows you to do the most powerful kite-loops and offers the most explosive pop for powered new-school and wake tricks.

5th line Freestyle High Depower Classic Setting:

Plenty of de-power and the classic Vegas feel you‘ve come to expect! This setting offers the most versatility and is ideal for free/wave riding, jumping and un-hooking.

5th line Freestyle / Newschool:

Dedicated new-school feel, little to no de-power, extremely steady when unhooked and less sensitive to bar input for loaded power moves. All the safety and relaunch benefits of the 5th Element.

Depower Behaviour:

With the New School set up the Vegas still retains some Depower but becomes less sensitive to bar sheeting and steering making it ideal for unhooking.

Duotone have completely re-worked the Vegas to cover a wider range of conditions and riding styles than ever before! A slightly lower aspect ratio and wider wing tips means very constant pull, extremely tight kite loops and improved low end grunt to please the C-kite lover in you.

As progressive freestyle kiteboarding evolves, the Vegas adapts and conquers! The Vegas is a high de-power C-design tuned for direct bar-feel and constant power to give you confidence when loading up, unhooking and throwing powered tricks and jumps.

Smooth, reactive steering gives the kite a very lively and crisp feel and also makes the Vegas perfect for kite-loops. 5th Element safety lets you go for glory with peace of mind while the Vegas' quick, easy re-launch gets you back up and riding hassle-free after a wipe-out.

Direct bar feedback allows you to feel exactly where the kite is for maximum control when un-hooking and jumping.

Using a redefined leading edge arc, canopy profile and swept wing tips, the VEGAS challenges what was previously thought possible with a five-line kite, changing angle of attack instantly to deliver a huge power/de-power range.

Simply rigged on Duotone's 5th Element, the VEGAS has the direct bar feel and instant turning response of a c-shape kite, without the hassle of bridles or pulleys normally associated with a flat kite.

The Duotone VEGAS makes setting up for a jump almost effortless by allowing you to depower as you position the kite above your head, then sheet in for power and lift.

If you’re looking for competition performance and safety with the simplicity of five lines, then look no further . . . The VEGAS will give you all the tools you need! Simply put, the Duotone Vegas is the ultimate freestyle kite with explosive pop to elevate your riding to new levels and to refine your style. The Vegas easily lives up to it's reputation as the definitive freestyle kite, robust construction and unmistakable style.

Technology
Trinity-X:

Teijin is the world’s leading supplier of polyester fabrics and sail materials to marine sports. The combined creative power of Duotone saw the formulation of TRINITY TX. Exclusive to Duotone, TRINITY TX is a 3x2 canopy material, which has proven to be far superior to other canopy materials in terms of durability and dynamic performance.

The 3x2 yarn combination has proven to be the best solution in performance as well as durability, overall superior to any 2x2 or 4x4 yarn solutions. TRINITY TX. Made to stand the test of time.

Trailing Edge Force Control:

The Trailing Edge Force Control is responsible for the smooth power distribution between the different materials of the kite, forcing the tensions in the right directions.

Since 2013 the waves are higher and wider to eliminate stress points between the Dacron Trailing Edge and the Trinity TX Canopy material.

This change in construction reduces fluttering marks and ensures that the material is not wearing out.

Kook Proof Connectors:

The kook proof line connection points prevent accidents by guaranteeing that you cannot accidentally connect your lines incorrectly when rigging your kite.

Double-V Pigtails:

These pigtails distribute the load of the line connections to the kite, minimizing the risk of fatigue, making the kite less prone to distortion and helps it to steer more smoothly.

Load Distribution Panels:

As kite geometry improves, the canopy must continue to resist increasing forces. To spread these forces, Load-Distribution-Panels are used, holding the kite’s shape even under the most extreme loads.

In practice this gives a smoother and more consistent performance from the kite in any riding situation.

Anti-Snag:

The Anti Snag webbing is preventing the lines from tangling around the tip of the kite.

Waterstarts are made easier and safety is increased.

Self-Rescue Handles:

The self-rescue handles on the inside of the wingtips can be easily found in case of an offshore break down.

They provide a good, comfortable grip while sailing back to the shore during a self-rescue manoeuvre.

Fusion Strut:

This construction allows for a controlled distribution of forces between strut and leading edge.

Struts are 100% connected to the leading edge with a flexible Dyneema line, which promotes higher canopy tension and a clean profile.

Heavy Duty Leading Edge Closing Seam:

The leading edges of all kites are extremely durable due to a special heavy duty closing seam.

The Dacron material at the leading edge is reinforced with a self sticky Insignia Tape and double stitched additionally.

The Heavy Duty Leading Edge Closing Seam is resistant to very high tensions and diagonal forces.

Control Bar
Duotone Trust Control Bar System

Riders of all levels, from pros to newcomers, will all gain substantial advantages from the new Duotone Trust Bar system.

Safety - perform all moves with safety leash
Water Start - without swimming
Performance - increased performance due to wider wind range

All kites can be flown with the same bar, just the short line attached in the middle of the leading edge has to be adjusted to the different kite sizes. Instructions will be attached to all bars or upgrades.

Line Length Advisor:

Different styles of riding, different kite models or the kite size can be influencing factors that require different line length.

In order to further increase this synergy effect the 19 and 22 m lines come now on a medium bar (49 / 42 cm) and the 24 and 27m lines on a large bar (53 / 46 cm).

The bar is the riders’ first point of contact with the kite. In order to achieve a maximum in comfort of riding it is essential to match the kite and the riders’ style of riding to the correct line length.

19m (70% Handling / 30% Power)

Super fast and reactive tuning speeds, shorter lines are best for extreme freestyle and crazy kiteloops. They are also excellent for wave riding, where kite turning speed is important. Wakestyle riders like the close connection to the kite too. The disadvantage is you lose some of the low end power.

Fast and reactive turning
Extreme Freestyle, Wakestyle and Waves
Tight, super fast and hard kite loops

22m (60% Handling / 40% Power)

The favourite length for freestyle and waves! These 22m lines are still great for getting lots of speed from the kite, perfect for wave riding and freestyle. Not as extreme as the 19m lines, they still lose a bit of low end power.

Reactive turning
Fast Kite Loops
Great setup for freestyle riders
Best choice for waveriding

24m (50% Handling / 50% Power)

The best choice for an all round length, good turning speed combined with good power make 24m the perfect choice for a lot of riders. Great for freeride, waves and freestyle.

Most Versatile Length
Great for all-round freeriding
Good low end and a good turning speed
Most Versatile Length
High jumps as you can “load” the lines
The recommended size for a one bar quiver

27m (40% Handling / 60% Power)

The extra length means extra power, get a little more range out of your quiver by adding this bar with the longer lines. They are also great for jumping as you can really “load” the lines when you edge and send the kite back through the window.

Enormous Low End Power
Huge Jumps
Lots of Lift

The bar is your first point of contact with the kite, It is the connection between you and your kite and it is important to get it right. And it’s actually an easy formula: The shorter the lines, the more direct and faster the kite turns. The longer the lines, the more power you can generate out of them! Choose a Duotone Trust Bar, and choose the right line set up for your style of riding.
