The Peter Lynn Nova is a new, unique depower foil kite. This one of a kind foil was designed to unite all the benefits of LEIs, like accessibility, ease of use and stability, with all the advantages of foils: better upwind, downwind, low wind performance and float.

When designing the Nova we had one goal in mind, to build a foil dedicated to speed up the learning curve of hydro foiling and that provides the best freeride feeling a foil can offer. It offers a stable and reliable riding experience in which you can focus on your board technique rather than on controlling your kite. If you want to spend more time above water but fear the foil, this is the kite for you.

The Nova doesn’t twist or has its tips fold in. It is highly stable yet agile, and it fills quickly with air due to a smart 4 intake system. Designed with relatively high cells and a balanced cell count, has resulted in a very stiff foil which retains its shape even under turbulent circumstances.

Because foil kites like the Nova are highly efficient and deliver much more power per size than LEI’s, you can fly a much smaller wing than you might expect in any given wind speed.

The float on the Nova is so good you could even use the kite to ride some waves whilst the kite happily drifts along. Riding a wave on a foil board is something close to extraordinary!

The Peter Lynn Nova is just at home on the land or snow as it is on the water!

Low Sideways Pull:

To get up on a hydrofoil it is important that the kite doesn’t generate too much sideways pull. Low sideways pull allows you to focus on holding your balance rather than dealing with the power of the kite.!

Foil Specific Performance:

Even though foil kites offer many advantages like low wind performance or upwind ability, many LEI riders consider foilkites to be difficult to use. This is why the Nova is special.

Highly Stable Rigid Wing:

The Nova’s high cell count and internal construction makes for a firm wing that doesn’t deform or has its tips fold in, this makes the kite highly reliable, and the bridle is tuned to offer maximum stability.

The Nova delivers much more power than an average LEI, making you able to use a small size in low wind.

Fills Fast with Internal Pressure:

The Nova’s 4 inlets have been placed in such a way that air gets in easily and the internal structure allows this air to move freely inside the kite to speed up inflation.

At the same time, the valves inside the wing prevent air from getting out.

SMS (Shape Memory Structure):

The inside of the kite is designed especially to maximize dimensional stability as well as reduced need for bridle points. The tension straps running along the bottom skin are a technical detail borrowed from the Twinskin/Arc design, and ensures proper bulging of the bottom skin while keeping the tension in check. The clever D and H Ribs allow for evenly spaced out bridle points and create a very rigid frame.

Technical detail previously used in the Twinskin design and adapted to make the NOVA extraordinary. The tension straps ensure proper bulging to create a super solid wing that will behave as a tube kite..

Medium Aspect Ratio:

The Nova’s medium Aspect Ratio and high cell count make for a very slick wing.

The high number of cells ensure the wings dimensional stability and prevents deforming of the designed shape.

The Medium Aspect ratio makes the kite highly stable and allows for ease of use in a large wind range.

High End Canopy Profile:

To ensure a light weight yet tough construction, we’ve used 30D Ripstop Nylon throughout the entire wing.

The top and bottom skin have a soft coating for optimal cell bulging, and the internal construction is made out of hard coated 30D ripstop for strength and rigidity.

Dynacore Bridle:

Dynacore is a sleeved Dyneema® line, which offers all the benefits of Dyneema® (minimal stretch, direct & responsive steering) but with additional protection. This insures minimal maintenance and tuning of your bridles.

To make the bridles easy to understand, each Dynacore bridle lines for the A, B, C and brake bridle rows come in a different colour. These different colours offer a clear overview of which line goes where, making it straightforward to set-up the kite or untangle if necessary.

One Line Relaunch:

The Nova is water re-launchable. It’s closed cell construction and coated UL fabrics keep water out and air in. It is recommended to practice this in shallow water before venturing deeper.

Better still would be to keep it in the air at all times! Do not use in waves if you can’t maintain the kite in the air.

Ronstan Orbit Pulleys:

The Nova’s speed system is constructed with 2×2 Ronstan® Orbit pulleys, these high quality pulleys weigh only 9 grams and allow for loads up to 250Kg.

And since the line goes through the bearing, it will always stay connected even in the rare case the pulley gets damaged.

Single Designs:

To accomplish maximum performance across the entire range of sizes we do not scale up or down. That is why each individual size has its very own design specifics, cell count and aspect ratio.

This ensures optimal performance in each size as well as synergized handling, feel and balance across the range.

Reinforced Bridle Points:

The bridle tabs are double stitched and reinforced with a Dacron patch for strength and durability, a Peter Lynn innovation which has proven its reliability time over time.

Cross Vents:

A smart profile design to reduce weight and create and easy inflow.

Peter Lynn Aviator Control Bar:

The Peter Lynn Aviator Control System offers the latest in safety features, a clean control bar design and a simple easy-to-use trimming system.

The Aviator has a unique design combining safety and user friendliness. The complete Aviator bar is designed to be as clean as possible without making any compromise in safety, user comfort or the possibility of tuning your bar to your personal liking. Whether your kiteboarding, landboarding or snowkiting the Aviator is your safe connection to a world of power.

Aviator Control:

The bar is tapered so also without looking at the bar, you can feel where your hands are holding it. For your fingers, cushioning is added. The EVA foam is comfortable and durable. The centreline goes through an alloy centerhole, giving you good center grip, low friction and good freedom to steer, power and depower. It offers all you need to control the kitepower.

Aviator Safety:

Safety is one of the most important things when kiteboarding. Kites can generate power that is not always wanted and which can sometimes even be dangerous. If the rider needs to loose the power of the kite, it is important that this can be done instantly and without much effort. Often there is no possibility to unhook the depower loop, therefore a bar need to be fitted with a proper safety release mechanism. The Centrix depowerloop on the Navigator bar is a specially designed part that includes a reliable safety release.

When it comes to safety, one should not depend on one solution only. So besides the Centrix safety release, the lines include safety handles. Simply grab the line handles and you can release your kite flagging it on 1 line, nearly fully depowered.

Ease of Use:

The Aviator bar and Centrix depowerloop combination offer control, safety and great ease of use. The package includes a completely tangle free swivel. No more tangled lines after your rotations. Adjusting the (de)power of the kite is done through a proven Clamcleat power adjuster that is placed above the bar. The best place to adjust the depower lines to your liking.

Safety Leash:

The Aviator control system comes complete with safety leash, for those wanting to ride unhooked. The safety leash is equipped with a quick release might things go wrong, you can quickly and easily release yourself.

The leash can be connected directly to the depowerline, or to the supplied ‘suicide connector’ In that case you connect the leash directly to the chicken loop which should be considered by advanced and expert riders only.

Easy Replacement:

The Aviator control bar has been designed using the most durable materials. However, as with all bar systems, parts do wear in the long term.

Peter Lynn has a focus on making any replacements for these parts as simple and quick as possible, to help you keep your bar safe with optimal performance at minimal costs.

Aviator Bar Sizes and Line Lengths:

The Navigator is available in three packages, each offering the best bar combination of bar size and corresponding length of the supplied flying lines. Those riders wanting to use just one bar for different sizes of kites, can thus find the most suitable bar set. By making use of the extension flying line set as well as the dual bar size endcaps, the bar can be adjusted to fly better on smaller or larger kites.
