The Flysurfer Sonic 3 sets a new standard for high performance foil kites and brings the thrill back to flying. The balance of aggressive performance and precise control is the dream of every expert kiter. Pure Flysurfer power is sporty, fast and addictive and will have you defying the laws of physics.
The Flysurfer Sonic 3 is the jumping machine for the medium wind range and the ultimate hydrofoil kite for high-performance enthusiasts. The hangtime is amazing and in light winds you will be going big whilst your friends are still on the beach watching. If you want to race on the water or snow or even freestyle on a landboard or buggy, the Sonic is perfect for maximum efficiency precision riding as well as riding in light wind conditions.
The Sonic line continues its success story as a high performance wing designed for experienced riders. The team have brought together their know-how from the race winning VMG and the outstanding all-rounder the Soul to create something truly special for freeride superlatives.
The merging of both lines has resulted in a true high performer with breathtaking hangtime, a huge range of use, and as will all Flysurfer kites, a brilliant low end. The new generation Sonic has 55 cells, an aspect ratio of 6.6 – 7.2, the profile of the VMG and heavy influences from the popular Soul in terms of handling.
Power on demand and controllable performance has been achieved with excellent depower. The Sonic has made the biggest steps in terms of safety and has significantly better launch and relaunch characteristics thanks to the optimised drainage system and increased stability.
To round off the package, the Sonic is equipped with features to maintain the longevity of the kite including PMAs, the Long Mixer Test, the LCLs and sheathed brake lines with reinforced loops and coloured bridle lines for increased visibility on snow.
It's engineers have worked in conjunction with the best hydrofoiling and snowkite athletes to sculp this amazing wing. Together with the most advanced technology available from Flysurfer's paragliding department, they have been able to achieve the most powerful race kite.

SPC (Smart Performance Construction):
The union of lightweight construction, durability and the optimal distribution of forces. The top and bottom sail are made of 32g / m2 X-Light cloth and the leading edge is made of 44g / m2 DLX+ cloth. The X-Light makes the construction stiffer, improving the kite’s response and steady pull.
The DLX+ increases longevity and protects against abrasion. The internal construction is an elaborate mix of ribs and straps with reinforced suspension points to distribute the load evenly over the entire wing. The Little Connection Lines (LCL) serve as a breakpoint and facilitate the replacement of bridle lines. All components of the SONIC are designed for maximum performance on any terrain.
PMA (Profile Momentum Adjuster):
The kite’s flight characteristics can be further influenced by the PMAs. The stability, turning, asymmetries can all be changed quickly and efficiently to get your kite back to flying as it should.
The PMAs are sewn to five ribs on the B level on each the left and right wing tips. Go through the air intakes to reach the small knot ladders on the top and bottom sail of the kite.
ADS (Automatic Drainage System):
Safety plays a central role in the development of our products. The automatic drainage system is a key feature to aid the relaunch.
The interior design and material selection of a FLYSURFER kite is optimised to absorb as little moisture as possible and enable a smooth relaunch after the kite hits the water.
This system sets us apart from the competition allowing easy relaunch in deep water and gives you the confidence to fly in the lightest breeze.
LMT (Long Mixer Test):
The long mixer test can be carried out by comparing the lengths of the marked bridle lines with the front and back main (see line plan) to compensate for deviations.
After intensive use adjustments should be made to maintain the performance of the kite.
The individual levels of the kite are controlled by the mixer with different ratios which influence the wing’s angle of attach and the camber.
In addition it is adjustable to compensate for stretch or shortening of lines and to ensure the kite continues to fly well.
MPI (Max Pressure Intake):
The Max Pressure Air Intake is integrated into the leading edge and ensures maximum internal air pressure in FLYSURFER foil kites.
This is designed to allow the kite to fill up fast in order to gain full control of the kite as early as possible.
Flysurfer Infinity Control Bar:
The Flysurfer Infinity 3.0 Bar has a complete spinning system on it which includes the 5th line is included also.
Big rotations or kite looping the kite no longer gives tangles to the lines, just pull the bar in towards you and untwist all the lines, a simple and completely effective system.
The 5th line gives a great safety and total kill system to the kite. If you become over powered and pull the safety or you miss the bar trying for a handle pass, the kite falls instantly from the sky. The bar also features an anti-jam Ironheart chicken loop which has been tested with sand and dirt from around the globe and still releases every time.
The chicken loop is very easy to reset, even in high winds by back stalling the kite or by dropping the kite onto the 5th line.
Quick Release Loop:
A bar is only as good as its quick release. Together with the Flysurfer Infinity 3.0 Control Bar, Flysurfer introduce their new Infinity 3.0 Quick Release. At first glance you can only imagine how brilliant this component really is. First of all, it fulfills the French safety norms to perfection, which only very few kiting quick releases do. The force needed to release the QR is minimal in relation to the load. Even with 400 kilograms of load, the release force remains under ten dekanewtons (similar to kilograms). The Quick Release design is optimized to be resistant against snow, sand, dirt and small rocks, as much as possible. But that is still not all. Flysurfer focused on the smallest of details. There is no metal parts at the end of the loop that can become tangled behind the harness hook. The system is intuitive and can be reset easily and quickly. In addition, Flysurfer made sure that you can release dependably, even when wearing thick gloves. Disruptive or dangerous accidental releases are practically eliminated. A heavy component? Hardly. The Infinity 3.0 Quick Release loop weighs only 157 grams and offers the most compact construction of all chicken loops with a comparable range of functions.
On the Infinity 3.0 Control Bar, Flysurfer have replaced the Chickendick with another of their innovations: the Chickenstick.
While most Chickendicks get stiff in low temperatures and barely work, the Chickenstick is stiff from the start and can be attached to the harness hook quickly and easily with the help of an elastic connection.
Broken Chickendicks or accidental releasing is basically eliminated with this Chickendick.
Double V-Shaped Eyelet:
Only a few bars can completely untwist, A special construction allows the Flysurfer Infinity 3.0 QR to swivel even more smoothly than ever, without being susceptible to rusting or blocking when exposed to sand, dirt, ice or salt.
The new Double V shaped Eyelet leads the depower lines vertically through the bar. This improves comfort and handling when holding the bar for one-handed flying and unhooked tricks. Flysurfer thought of more, too. The depowerloop ‘locks’ when unhooking and doesn’t dangle around. For real wake-style purists, you also have the option to make the depowerloop bigger. And so that no wish remains unfulfilled, each Infinity 3.0 Control Bar has the option to use a “Releasable Suicide HP-Mode”.
Adjustable Stopper Ball:
This is Flysurfer's first bar with a quickly adjustable stopperball, which we recommend, above all, for advanced riders and constant winds. This is a luxury that Flysurfer no longer want to go without. If you are surprised by a gust, you can still push the stopper up, together with the bar. You can also adjust the bar width on the winders at any time. Finally Flysurfer have also slightly revised the trimmer making it more precise and more user-friendly. The control bar remains clean and clearly laid out, despite a multitude of functions.
