F-One Bandit S3
As low as £1,099.00
The true partner to the surfboard rider, the F-One Bandit S3 follows your every move in all control. You can manage the power at any time. The kite never surges in power if you throw the kite in the window, it simply allows you to kite smoothly in the right position and ride by feel. It provides a more subtle ride as well as a constant connection with your board. You are not being pulled away, nor are your trajectories being disturbed.
The Bandit S3 offers fingertip control at all states of trim thanks to its incredibly balanced bar feel which is really comfortable on your arms. It's turning response when sheeted out has been increased, giving you more control over the kite’s position almost at will. The kite’s handling is precise and provides a more subtle ride as well as a constant connection with your board. You are not being pulled away, nor are your trajectories being disturbed. Power delivery is clean, and although quick, very intuitive in feel to adapt to. Drifting is on point, your lines go a bit of slack and the Bandit S3 only takes a second to retention and be ready for your next input, allowing you to keep your kite engaged at all time when surfing.
The new vertical panel layout complete with its warp line orientation at the rear of the profile and the new trailing edge design complete with our 135gr Dacron has greatly improved the control of the profile as well as the kite’s static weight. This new profile offers impressive stability and responsiveness – both essential kite qualities for wave riding. The traction and the control of the S3 is the constant in any wind condition and everywhere in the window. The Bandit S3 allows you to ride on impulse which makes your motion so much more fluid.
On top of this work, F-One have also modified the outline of the Bandit S3. The centre strut is now shorter and the wing tips wider – the result is the handling is now more reactive and the S3 will match the carves of your board.
Every aspect of the design has been improved and the profile has been rethought. The leading edge has an extra segment at the centre to give an even cleaner ‘C’ shape curve. We’ve also cut a segment from the tips to make them sleeker.
When you are wavering and riding strapless you are constantly using the bar to adjust the power and the direction of your kite. That connection with your kite is essential and we always use the term: “bar feeling” but it is a lot more than this.
The bar pressure on the Bandit-S3 is very light; you never really feel the kite pulling or any fatigue on the arms. With just small input from your fingertips, you can engage the incredibly responsive steering. The leading edge is thinner, allowing the kite to twist, and the wingtip shape further enhances the response. This is perfect for onshore riding conditions where you need to steer the kite around the wave as you ride. The turn is pivotal, meaning you can quickly redirect the kite for a powerful bottom turn, allowing you to follow your surfing lines with precision.
Power is nothing without control; when you push the bar out on the Bandit-S3, you can completely dump everything in the kite. This instantly releases any pull from the kite, allowing you to truly surf the wave from top to bottom. It’s impressive how it changes the feeling of your board; suddenly, you will find yourself totally free on the wave. From sharp snaps in the pocket, to cranking a bottom turn at Mach 10, the kite will deliver the exact amount of power and response you need the instant you demand it.
Stability was another area we worked on allowing the Bandit-S to drift perfectly down the line in side-off conditions. The kite is lighter this year, thanks to the new 130g Teijin Dacron with ripstop material we are using. Not only does this help with the kites ability to drift, but it also improves the turning speed. You’ll find the Bandit-S is always precisely where you want it to be in the window at all times.
One of the best qualities of the new Bandit-S is just how easy it is to fly; it’s one of the most intuitive kites on the market.
For strapless riding, the Bandit-S3 is designed to jump high, which will help you score points with the judges or the crowds on the beach. The loop it delivers has a small radius in the turn and won’t pull you sideways too much, so you can stay in control of your board. The instant depower also allows you to stay connected when throwing front and back rolls too. All this control at your fingertips leaves you to work on your next big trick rather than thinking about the kite.
These qualities make the Bandit-S3 is also a phenomenal kite for foiling, the fast turning nature means you can generate lots of power early on to allow you to ride a smaller kite and allow easy carving. Its lightness and stability are essential features for foiling, and it’s great for gentle breezes, with a big wing and small kite you can have endless hours of fun.
If you want to boost some jumps on a twin tip, the S can do that too, it’s a very easy kite to jump around on and is packed with performance. It’s easy and forgiving when learning strapless airs, and for the freerider on a twin tip, this is true too. Whatever board you are riding you’ll find the Bandit-S intuitive to get airborne.

Back Line Turning:
SHEETED IN The back line is released and the forces go through the front connector. The bar pressure increases and the maneuvrability is less direct. It offers a very progressive bar with a feeling of a sheeted out back connector while we sheet in, therefore the pressure increases progressively.
SHEETED OUT The kite tilts and the back line stiffens. The tensions move to the trailing edge which has several effects: - less flapping - better start - maneuvrability with less pressure.
Stronger assembly of the panels: they are now glued and sewn together to make the canopy more rip resistant.
Streamlined Leading Edge End Tips:
The leading edge tips benefit from a reduced diameter, they are streamlined to lower the drag and equipped with a strap to avoid bridle tangling
The internal outline of the trailing edge panels is no more linear but with a series of arches.
In the centre, DACRON has been replaced by a double layer of canopy fabric which improves spreading the tensions, maintaining the profile and brings new gains in stability and performance.
Vertical Strut Cut:
The kite's struts are designed with a vertical cut in order to optimize the strength / diameter ratio.
Pulley structure is extremely resistant.
Bridle is integrated in the lower part of the pulley, working in its axis and not sideways.
Pulleys can be removed independently from the bridle, you can change the bridle and keep the pulley or vice versa.
Most seams on the leading edge are protected with an abrasion-resistant Kevlar® fabric to prevent the seams from deteriorating when the kite's profile is subjected to aggressive ground friction
One-Pump Collar Valve:
Easier to remove and put back.
Convenient for bladder replacement.
TECHNOFORCE™ of TEIJIN is a high density Polyester fabric with a tear stopping structure using thin and high tension yarn.
F-One Linx Control Bar:
The F-One Linx bar takes all the best bits of the Monolith Bar and added some great features to create the ultimate connection to your kite.
The Linx bar is available in two sizes, 52-45 and 45-38cm; this allows you to choose the perfect size bar for your quiver. The new integrated floats on the rear line not only offer a cleaner look; they also house the mechanism to adjust the size of your bar too.
A new One Line Flag Out safety system features this year and is now the standard for all F-ONE kites. There’s a high-quality corrosion proof Inox steel hub on the front lines that allows one line to slide. The first 6m of the front lines are larger in diameter for durability, and there is a stopper to prevent the bar from travelling too far away from you when the safety is engaged.
F-One have also added a manual swivel on top of the chicken loop this year; it uses a high-quality ball bearing and is easy to rotate even when powered. This allows you to untwist your front lines after performing rotational tricks and is a feature every rider is going to fall in love with!
The Lifeline safety connection has an added swivel, so there is no danger of twists affecting the release of the kite, and the same goes for the leash too. The safety can be set up in suicide mode for freestyle riders while still retaining full functionality when the chicken loop is released as the loop can slide through the Lifeline safety connection with ease.
There’s a new Inox steel ring on the front lines; riders can choose to run the front lines through this ring to give the kite a short V on the front lines. Or you can run the lines outside of this ring to have a full front V. Kites like the Furtive perform better with the full front V, while the Bandit flies better with the short V. This feature of the bar means you only need one kite bar regardless of your quiver of kites.
F-One have retained the ability to tune the rear lines, so if a line does stretch, you can still tune the bar so all the lines are equal and the kite will still fly properly.
The LINX bar features a smaller diameter to make it comfier in your hands and reduce fatigue and, of course, we have new fresh colours!
