The Duotone Rebel 2021 is a kite that has defined a generation of riders; it’s the best freeride kite on the market and the perfect tool to help you improve your riding. More than that though the Rebel was made for flying, no other kite in the Duotone range offers as much hangtime and float when you are jumping. Load up the edge and sheet in on take-off for an experience like no other.
This year, Flex Struts have been incorporated into the design; these allow the kite to twist when you input steering response through the bar. This has made the Rebel much faster through the turn and more dynamic than in previous years. The kite feels sportier, more like a race car, finely tuned and ready for action.
The wind range on the Rebel is outstanding, the five-strut design keeps the shape stable in the air, so at the top end there is almost no limit, the jumps just get bigger, and the hangtime lasts longer. With several trim options on the bar, the Rebel is also very versatile, you can set the kite up for the conditions of the day and how you want it to fly.
A familiar Sheet and Go feeling through the bar makes it a great kite for beginners and riders wanting to improve the way they ride. From your very first jumps to the biggest airs you could possibly imagine; the Rebel is the perfect partner every step of the way.
Get ready for take-off and experience flying in a way you can only get with the Rebel!

Teijin is the world’s leading supplier of polyester fabrics and sail materials to marine sports. The combined creative power of Duotone saw the formulation of TRINITY TX. Exclusive to Duotone, TRINITY TX is a 3x2 canopy material, which has proven to be far superior to other canopy materials in terms of durability and dynamic performance.
The 3x2 yarn combination has proven to be the best solution in performance as well as durability, overall superior to any 2x2 or 4x4 yarn solutions. TRINITY TX. Made to stand the test of time.
Modern Trailing Edge Design:
A narrower trailing edge with a lighter combination of materials to reduce wear and to create a slicker kite profile.
Trailing Edge Force Control:
The Trailing Edge Force Control is responsible for the smooth power distribution between the different materials of the kite, forcing the tensions in the right directions.
Since 2013 the waves are higher and wider to eliminate stress points between the Dacron Trailing Edge and the Trinity TX Canopy material.
This change in construction reduces fluttering marks and ensures that the material is not wearing out.
Kook Proof Connectors:
The kook proof line connection points prevent accidents by guaranteeing that you cannot accidentally connect your lines incorrectly when rigging your kite.
These pigtails distribute the load of the line connections to the kite, minimizing the risk of fatigue, making the kite less prone to distortion and helps it to steer more smoothly.
Load Distribution Panels:
As kite geometry improves, the canopy must continue to resist increasing forces. To spread these forces, Load-Distribution-Panels are used, holding the kite’s shape even under the most extreme loads.
In practice this gives a smoother and more consistent performance from the kite in any riding situation.
The Anti Snag webbing is preventing the lines from tangling around the tip of the kite.
Waterstarts are made easier and safety is increased.
The self-rescue handles on the inside of the wingtips can be easily found in case of an offshore break down.
They provide a good, comfortable grip while sailing back to the shore during a self-rescue manoeuvre.
This construction allows for a controlled distribution of forces between strut and leading edge.
Struts are 100% connected to the leading edge with a flexible Dyneema line, which promotes higher canopy tension and a clean profile.
Heavy Duty Leading Edge Closing Seam:
The leading edges of all kites are extremely durable due to a special heavy duty closing seam.
The Dacron material at the leading edge is reinforced with a self sticky Insignia Tape and double stitched additionally.
The Heavy Duty Leading Edge Closing Seam is resistant to very high tensions and diagonal forces.
Duotone Trust Control Bar System
Riders of all levels, from pros to newcomers, will all gain substantial advantages from the new Duotone Trust Bar system.
Safety - perform all moves with safety leash
Water Start - without swimming
Performance - increased performance due to wider wind range
All kites can be flown with the same bar, just the short line attached in the middle of the leading edge has to be adjusted to the different kite sizes. Instructions will be attached to all bars or upgrades.
Line Length Advisor:
Different styles of riding, different kite models or the kite size can be influencing factors that require different line length.
In order to further increase this synergy effect the 19 and 22 m lines come now on a medium bar (49 / 42 cm) and the 24 and 27m lines on a large bar (53 / 46 cm).
The bar is the riders’ first point of contact with the kite. In order to achieve a maximum in comfort of riding it is essential to match the kite and the riders’ style of riding to the correct line length.
19m (70% Handling / 30% Power)
Super fast and reactive tuning speeds, shorter lines are best for extreme freestyle and crazy kiteloops. They are also excellent for wave riding, where kite turning speed is important. Wakestyle riders like the close connection to the kite too. The disadvantage is you lose some of the low end power.
Fast and reactive turning
Extreme Freestyle, Wakestyle and Waves
Tight, super fast and hard kite loops
22m (60% Handling / 40% Power)
The favourite length for freestyle and waves! These 22m lines are still great for getting lots of speed from the kite, perfect for wave riding and freestyle. Not as extreme as the 19m lines, they still lose a bit of low end power.
Fast Kite Loops
Great setup for freestyle riders
Best choice for waveriding
24m (50% Handling / 50% Power)
The best choice for an all round length, good turning speed combined with good power make 24m the perfect choice for a lot of riders. Great for freeride, waves and freestyle.
Most Versatile Length
Great for all-round freeriding
Good low end and a good turning speed
Most Versatile Length
High jumps as you can “load” the lines
The recommended size for a one bar quiver
27m (40% Handling / 60% Power)
The extra length means extra power, get a little more range out of your quiver by adding this bar with the longer lines. They are also great for jumping as you can really “load” the lines when you edge and send the kite back through the window.
Enormous Low End Power
Lots of Lift
The bar is your first point of contact with the kite, It is the connection between you and your kite and it is important to get it right. And it’s actually an easy formula: The shorter the lines, the more direct and faster the kite turns. The longer the lines, the more power you can generate out of them! Choose a Duotone Trust Bar, and choose the right line set up for your style of riding.
